I have long known about the benefits of Manuka Honey, I have even known a few vets that have started using it in their practices. I know that it has to be a specific grade of honey and kept in specific conditions (i.e. you can’t be using it for cooking or your tea as well) in order to be used for healing as well. I saw these bandages and thought it would be a great chance to try them out.First off, these are not meant for open, bleeding, or oozing wounds. You need to stop all of that first. You need to have things on the bit of the stable side first. I have had several surgeries in the last few years and will be having more on a very regular schedule. Anything that can speed up my recovery time from the incisions is of great value to me.At 2” x 2” these are a nice size for most things, with properly cleaned equipment, you could cut them into another shape easily. (which is what I did to make a longer strip). These really do work well for rehydrating damaged tissue. These would even be a great alternative to the silicone scar tissue items that you see out there, I have tried those in the past and have not found them to be very useful. Although these are messier than those are, they are far more healing than they are.I could easily see this working on ulcers, and burns (I didn’t have any to test them out on). I do have a family member who is diabetic, and I will be trying this with them if they develop any that won’t heal.Review: MarvellHealth Honey Impregnated Gauze Dressing 2" x 2", Pack of 10 Individual Sterile Pads, Medical Active Leptospermum Honey, Soft & Conformable, Fast Healing for Diabetic Ulcers & BurnsI burned my arm pretty bad on the lid of my charcoal grill this summer and when saw these Manuka honey impregnated bandages that facilitate the healing process, I ordered them immediately. My arm was already healed but the fairly recent unpleasant experience was still fresh in my memory and the first thing I thought of. I have used Manuka honey for other healing but saw these and had to order them in case of another burn or really any wound. So far no one in the family has needed to use them which is a good thing but glad that I have them on hand. I see it as cheep insurance and a good product to keep in the medicine closet or even the first aid kit.I have edema which has been in check since I've been home more an keep my feet elevated. Still, it occasionally itches and breaks out in scars from scratching without thinking. I patched up a few areas with this and a few more with a plain gauze some tape and used an antibiotic. I checked after six days and removed the dressings. Both were healing nicely, but I could see the honey patch dressings were almost fully healed. I was surprised my circulation is not great down there so speeding up healing is good. Before now the gauze and antibiotic method had worked best, so I loved that this was better. Recommended. For those who want more than the basics when it comes to taking care of wounds etc, items like this can really make a difference. Most of the time first aid kits are looked at as a very short term stop-gap measure until one can get to a doctor, an urgency care, or ER. And simple, basic kits are good for that. But what about situations where its just not possible to.do so for longer periods of time, and you have a wound that a standard first aid kit is not equpped to handle? That's where items like this and others come into play. The properties of Manuka honey, especially for wounds, are renowned. This will be joining other items in my expanding medical/first aid kit.I am a huge fan of the healing qualities of manuka honey, so to find these bandages is awesome! Super glad to have this product on handi've been a fan of using Manuka honey to heal wounds for a long time, but it can be really messy and sticky to apply. These manuka honey infused gauze pads really help take the mess out it! They are still a bit sticky, but in a good way. Just enough to help stick the pad to your wound. Then you wrap it in clean sterile gauze and change as often as needed. My son had an abscess on his leg that wasn't healing well and we started using the manuka honey infused gauze and it really helped to heal up the area quickly. i really can not say enough good things about the healing properties of manuka honey, and these gauze pads really work well to get the honey where it is needed without a gross sticky mess.Sugar and salt are both known to be good preservatives and anti-infection agents. Having honey impregnated gauze makes it easy to keep infection away from your wounds. You should have these in your go-bag or medical kit.
